Meet Vincent Martwinski

Candidate for Lawrence County Sheriff

Vincent A. Martwinski has 24 years of law enforcement experience with the last twelve being employed with the Lawrence County District Attorney’s County Detective Bureau. He has been married to his wife Traci (Viggiano) for the past 20 years and are both long time residents of Lawrence County.

He graduated from Shenango High School, served in the United States Navy, and attended the Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s police academy.  He started his law enforcement career with the City of Sharon police department. He then continued his law enforcement career with the Shenango Township police department until being hired at the District Attorney’s county detective bureau.   

He has worked in a variety of assignments throughout his career to include road patrol, Narcotics Special Investigation Unit, Lawrence County Drug Taskforce, Criminal Investigation Division, District Attorney’s Sexual Assault Task Force. He is currently assigned as the supervising Captain of the Lawrence County Criminal Investigation Division’s Major Crime Unit which conducts investigations related to major case crimes.

In 2022, he was elected President of the Fraternal Order of Police Lawrence County Lodge #110 by officers representing sixteen different Lawrence County police agencies. He is the President of the Lawrence County Detective Association. He is a board member of the Lawrence County Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT), member of the Lawrence County All-Hazards Incident Management Team and member of the Lawrence County Chiefs of Police Association.

As the next Sheriff of Lawrence County, my vision and priorities are committed to top-down accountability, and achieving a standard of excellence at the Sheriff’s Office that will both transform Lawrence County into a safer community and build trust between citizens and law enforcement.
